Transcription: A cotton ball is held just below the lower eyelid to catch any drips. The patient is asked to look upward. The lower lid is pulled down slightly. The dropper is held parallel to the face, about one half to one inch above the eye, and the prescribed number of drops are placed in the eye. The dropper should not touch any part of the eye or skin. Once a prescribed number of drops are placed into the eye, the eye should be closed to help distribute the medicine.
